As a seasoned college admissions professional, Dr. Murphy has over a decade of experience
helping students navigate the college admissions process. She is particularly skilled in building
relationships with students to support and coach them in reaching their admissions goals at Ivy
League and other highly selective colleges and universities.
Through Dr. Murphy’s involvement with admissions at Wake Forest University and at liberal
arts colleges, she has gained considerable insight into the qualities and experiences necessary
for admission to top institutions. In addition, as a tenure-track faculty member, she has
mentored Honors College students through the undergraduate thesis writing process, taught
undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level courses, and guided students through the personal
narrative writing process.
Dr. Murphy earned a PhD in teaching and learning at The Ohio State University and has since
been recognized with university awards for commitment to the needs of students and
appreciation for their unique gifts. She lives with her puppy, Ruby, and loves to travel.
