Dr. Megan Race

As an Associate Director at Spark Admissions, Dr. Megan Race oversees a team of Senior Admissions Consultants and ensures that every student in her purview receives strategic, deeply personalized guidance on their academic journey and admissions process. Dr. Race is a trusted expert in selective admissions, and she draws on over 15 years of experience in higher education to ensure that all clients receive top-notch student-centered advising.

In her capacity as a Senior Admissions Consultant at Spark, Dr. Race has guided students to admission at every Ivy League institution, as well as MIT, Stanford, UChicago, Johns Hopkins, Caltech, and countless other top-ranked colleges and universities. Her students’ successes span a wide range of academic interests, extracurricular profiles, and personal stories, reflecting her strong belief that there is no single formula for admission to elite schools, only thoughtful and individualized strategy.

Before joining Spark Admissions, Dr. Race worked in undergraduate and graduate admissions and recruitment at Yale University and the University of Chicago, experiences that shaped her nuanced understanding of how highly selective institutions evaluate applicants. As a graduate instructor at Yale and faculty member at Davidson College, she also taught writing-intensive courses and advised students on fellowships, grants, summer opportunities, and graduate school admissions, sharpening her ability to help students craft compelling, authentic narratives.

Dr. Race holds a doctorate from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University and received a Fulbright Award. She lives in Boston with her husband.
